How old is your dog, really?

Biological age vs. chronological age in dogs
Chronological age is the number of years since your dog was born. Biological age is how well their cells, tissues, and organs are actually functioning.
It’s shaped by things like diet, dental health, activity, stress, sleep and even social connection, which means it’s not fixed. And that’s the opportunity.
Our free biological age calculator helps you get ahead by giving insight into how your dog is really ageing, not just how old they are on paper.
Spot early risks, take action sooner, and keep them active and comfortable for longer.

Why your dog's biological age matters
Age isn't just a number. Many signs of decline, like joint stiffness, fatigue, or slower recovery, can be delayed or reduced with early intervention.
What is a dog’s biological age?
Biological age measures how old your dog’s body really is, based on cell health, not just time. It’s an indicator of functional ageing, unlike chronological age which is based on birthdays.

Can I slow down ageing in my dog?
Yes! Diet, regular vet visits, exercise, dental care, and sleep all shape your dog’s biological age. Early action keeps them healthier, longer. Check out our articles here for more ways to support their healthspan.
