1

Spinal Structure & Disc Health

The Dachshund's structure creates abnormal physical pressure on vertebral discs. Proactive management of core strength and handling is critical to preventing early disc degeneration.

2

Limb Structure & Stability

Their unique limb structure predisposes them to knee instability. Monitoring gait for micro-dislocations allows you to identify issues early, before movement is compromised.

3

Weight & Spinal Pressure

Because of their small frame, even a tiny amount of extra weight adds massive stress to the spine. Maintaining a lean Body Condition Score is a structural necessity to protect their discs.

The silent signals of a Miniature Dachshund

Track, learn, and act with confidence. From monthly medication reminders to analysing blood results, Blueprint gives you one trusted platform to manage your dog’s health and support a longer, healthier life.

Mild trembling when picked up or reluctance to jump are early clues of disc strain, appearing before back pain.

Tiny skips or mild toe-dragging on walks are specific signals of early spinal compression or patellar instability in motion.

Increased fatigue after routine walks is an early indicator that the back muscles are absorbing abnormal load to stabilise the spine.

Low-grade increases in inflammation (often gut-linked) precede spinal flare-ups. Tracking these patterns helps you spot irritation early.

A slow upward creep in weight increases IVDD risk months before they look 'overweight'. Tracking these micro-shifts is critical for spinal safety
